I just completed a mystery novel set in Costa Rica. In this book, which is based on "true events" and the many years I spent in Costa Rica, Kit Carlyle, a newly minted professor at the University of California at Berkeley, wakes up on the banks of a creek in the middle of the Costa Rican rainforest.
